  1. Getting Started With - REIPS - REAL ESTATE INVESTMENT PROJECTIONS SYSTEM
  2. Welcome to REIPS, a comprehensive program that projects the financial results
  3. of a real estate investment over its period of ownership and culminating
  4. in its sale. The purpose of the analysis is to compare the projected results
  5. with other competing prospective investments, including other real estate
  6. investments, to aid in decision making. It is a compiled Basic program that
  7. will work with IBM-PCs or compatibles, using only the MS-DOS.   
  8. To get started with floppy disk systems (refer to MS-DOS manual for commands):
  9.         1. Prepare a back-up copy of this diskette and put the original away.  
  10.         2. Using the back-up copy, read the manual on the screen by typing TYPE
  11.            MANUAL (following the A>) or print a copy of the manual for future 
  12.            reference by typing TYPE MANUAL>LPT1 (following the A>).
  13. To get started with hard-disk systems (press ENTER after each command):
  14.         1. Insert REIPS in floppy disk drive (A), and turn power on. 
  15.         2. After C> prompt, type A:.  This directs the computer to Drive A. 
  16.         3. After A> prompt, type COPY A:*.* C:. This copies all REIPS files
  17.            onto the hard disk.  Put the original REIPS in a safe place.
  18.         4. After A> prompt, type C:. You now have access to all REIPS files on 
  19.            the hard disk.
  20.         5. After C> prompt, display or print MANUAL with commands shown above. 
  21. Follow instructions in MANUAL and/or the expanded manual to run REIPS.
